Finally.. CRUNCH! The runway collection.

F.I.T. Graduate collections showed last Tuesday in Milano, Italy! Our show was called "Armonie", and was a collaborative fashion show and concert (with Conservatorio di Milano students who played live). There were 5 mini collections shown (mine included)- 1 children's and 4 womenswear. This is an unedited video of "Crunch", my womenswear collection inspired by insects. For those of you who don't know about my collection already, it consists of many graphic prints which I have designed and had printed on fabric (inspired by the beautiful insect photography of mermet gilles). I wanted to design everything about the collection, fabric included.
Highlights: Original prints, embroidery (back of the sheer bodysuit), soleil pleating

This is what I've spent my last 6 months of school working on.
Now what?!?!?!

Ok, so it's only hail the size of pencil erasers. NEVERTHELESS, a perfect day to update a blog. It's been a long time! A few notable events have occurred this past month.

My birthday & dessert party were equally as sweet! As for the delicious food, I made "Zucchini- Parmesan Squares". I didn't make them in squares, though. I made them in mini dishes (like appetizers).. pictures below! If you're interested, the recipe:

Berlin Part 2

Ciao a tutti! Here is the second (read: best) part of Berlin! What you've all been waiting for: The Dali museum and the Ramones museum! Oh, how I enjoyed my time in Germany. Not only did I constantly discover interesting places and cool stores, the food was so delicious.

I'm trying to catch up with all my pictures! Frankie was here until today, and school starts tomorrow, but I'm trying my best :)
For now...
Check it.

Berlin, where Jackii will become a starving artist and eventually die (happy)

Long story short, Berlin rules. The seniors (all 5 of us) took a 4-5 day trip to attend a few trade shows and fashion shows during Berlin Fashion Week. We went to Bread & Butter, which is my favorite trade show so far, as well as Premium and..an eco-show I can't remember the name of right now. We ended up having one of the last days free, which was realllly nice. I used it to check out the Dali museum and the Ramones museum! I also did a little bit of shopping- not too much because I left my wallet in a cab the first day- but the stores were really tiny & really cool.

P.S. I need to separate these because I have so many pictures. This is the first 2-3 days. I'll post the Ramones and Dali museums next.

So, I like the weird stuff. Typewriter hat.

Kenny Random.

It was cold. I wore Moon Boots. Everywhere.

Ron Galella exhibit- I can't say I condone paparazzi so I wasn't sure about it. But another exhibit inside was VERY intense. I was really moved by the photographer's work: Gundula Schulze Eldowy.

Free At Last

I am free at last from the chains of 7th semester work (only to be imprisoned once more in 2 weeks. The dreaded 8th semester!!!)

I'm only being a tiny bit dramatic, & I'm not even dreading starting class again- just really happy to have a little time off. Actually, this whole semester will be dedicated to my final collection which I haven't talked about all that much in this blog, but it's inspired by insects. Enough about me! I have so many pictures that need to go up here. I got back from Berlin yesterday, & have some really sweet images, but I'm a little backlogged. SO! You're gonna have to wait for those bad boys. Here's the catch up from before I left for Germany:

We all went out last last weekend for Isadora's b-day

We all know my dream is actually food photography

I come home from one of the busiest days Isadora & I have had all year, and she is standing in the kitchen making these little savory pastries. So amazing.

Happy New Year!

I wonder how many posts are titled "Happy New Year!" in the blogosphere.

I had a really amazing time in Amsterdam, but I am now back in Milano. One week of school, then to Berlin! I'm really embarrassed to say this, but I didn't take one picture on New Year's Eve. So wild.. outside looked like a battle field with smoke everywhere- it was really the most fun. Had the nicest dinner at a friend's house (which just so happens to be a historical building in Amsterdam, & is also the coolest house ever), and then around midnight the coffee shop across the canal set off something like 100,000 fireworks.

While I cannot prove any of this because I am a bad person who forgets to carry a camera, some other cool stuff was captured during the rest of my trip. Including cake pops (sadly, looked amazing, tasted DISGUSTING).

Teach me how to knit, teach me teach me how to knit

I attended my first ever Knit Night yesterday, which happens to be (conveniently) at my house! Beer, pizza, cookies, tea, knitting. And a little bit of DJ Kaiya. So, against my better judgement, I've learned how to knit... as if I needed another hobby. I also have a very tight schedule this week, as we are learning a coordinated dance to (Korea's best boy band) 2PM's "Hands Up". Check it.
